Vets Shaved 6 Pounds of Fur off a Shih Tzu who could barely walk because of his tangled fur. The Before and After TikTok video which was shared by KC Pet Project got over 30 million views.
After veterinarians cut off more than 6lbs of tangled fur, the rescued Shih Tzu appeared unrecognizable.
Simon, an 11-year-old stray who was taken into the KC Pet Project in Kansas because of his tangled fur that hung from his body and obscured his face, was barely able to move.
Simon was a dark brown color and weighed 20 pounds when he first arrived at the clinic.
Thanks to the staff of the clinic the tangled dog Simon is now 6lbs lighter and he finally is recovering from the ordeal.
The transformation was captured before and after and published on TikTok, where it has received over 30.5 million views.
The person in the video said,
“This 11-year-old Shih Tzu came in today in possibly one of the worst matted cases we have ever seen. We can only guess how long it took for him to get into this condition, but one thing we know for sure is that life is about to get so much better for this boy.”
Vets spent two hours to shave the thick tangled fur off Simon. The fur itself weighed 6lbs.
Staff at the vet facility claimed he is still at the clinic and is’relatively well’ despite his previous bad condition in a second video. She also said, “Simon has a couple of minor medical concerns, including chronic dry eye.
He is in desperate need of dental work and because of the matted fur and how long he had it. He overcorrected his stride. So he doesn’t walk quite right yet, but we hope it will correct itself over time.”
The video reached up to 6.3 million likes with 91,000 comments on TikTok. They were amazed by his transformation.
