Twins may be quite different from one another in terms of appearance and temperament. It’s true that each of these things is unique, yet there is one thing in common. It is, in fact, their birthday. This is a case with a new set of twins. They will have birth certificates with two different years on them, one for 2021 and the other for 2022. Why is this happening? There’s no getting around the fact that they were born 15 minutes apart from one another.
It was 11.45 pm on New Year’s Eve when Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo were able to welcome their baby Alfredo Antonio Trujillo into the world at a medical center in California.
He has a twin sister, Aylin Yolanda Trujillo, who was born just as the clock struck midnight, marking her birthday on January 1st.

Aylin’s elder brother weighed six pounds and Aylin had a weight of 5 pounds, 14 ounces at the time of birth. Natividad Medical Center in Monterey County, California, welcomed Aylin as the first baby of 2022 with her birth.
Ms. Madrigal said that she finds it “bizarre” since they are identical twins yet were born on separate days. Upon her arrival at midnight, she was startled and delighted.
There are three elder siblings in the family: two girls and a boy. The fraternal twins are the youngest. Ms. Madrigal said that the family was quite excited to finally meet them.
Roughly around 120,000 twins are born per year in the United States, accounting for just 3% of all births in the country overall.

It is, however, not common to have twins born on separate dates. In addition, some experts believe that the possibility of their being born in separate years is one in every two million.
An expert in family medicine, Dr. Ana Abril Arias practices at the Natividad Medical Center. She described the twins’ delivery as one of the most unforgettable experiences of her professional life.
As far as she was concerned, it was a joy to assist these two babies arrive in 2021 and 2022 safely. What an incredible way to kick off the new year.
