It’s hard to imagine, yet some individuals in far-flung corners of the globe are unaware of the Covid pandemic and its consequences.
Indeed, this was the situation for one old guy who has lived in a cave in Serbia for the last 20 years, accessible only by climbing a very high mountain. (We’re talking severe social distance here.)

Panta Petrovic, 70, found out about the worldwide catastrophe on a rare visit to his birthplace of Pirot, in the country’s south, where the pandemic was spreading.
Petrovic decided not to take any chances after seeing what was going on. He ordered his Covid vaccination as soon as it became available.

“It [the virus] doesn’t differentiate. It will come here, and it will come to my cave as well,” Petrovic said to the AFP news agency.
He also claimed he “doesn’t comprehend the fuss” created by anti-vaxxers, adding, “I want all three doses, even the additional one.”
Petrovic then advised everyone to be vaccinated, emphasizing, “I urge every citizen, every single one of them, to get vaccinated.”
The 70-year-old, who survives on welfare and food donations, also explained why he chose to live in such a remote location.
“I couldn’t be myself in the city. Someone is always in your way — you fight with your wife, your neighbors, or the cops,” Petrovic stated.
“No one is bothering me here.”
Petrovic gave all of the money he earned as a black market laborer overseas to his local community before retiring to his tranquil life, sponsoring the construction of three tiny bridges in the town.
He stated, “Money is a curse; it ruins people.” “I believe that nothing can corrupt a human more than money.”
