A man was bitten in the genital area by his neighbour’s pet python during an early morning trip to the toilet on Monday.
According to a statement from police in Styria province, the 65-year-old victim “felt a ‘nip’ in the genital area” shortly after sitting on the toilet at home in Graz shortly after 6 a.m.

An albino reticulated python was spotted when he peeked into the toilet.
The python, a constrictor native to Asia that can grow to nearly 30ft (9 meters) in length, is assumed to have entered the toilet via the drainage system.
For minor injuries, the victim was admitted to the hospital.
The snake’s probable route into the toilet could not be confirmed, although it is believed to have escaped from a neighbour’s flat.

The python was taken from the toilet, cleaned, and returned to its owner by the reptile specialist Werner Stangl called by emergency services.
According to the police, a 24-year-old neighbor with 11 snakes and a gecko has been reported to the prosecutors’ office on suspicion of negligently inflicting bodily harm.
Reticulated pythons are the world’s biggest snakes, although they are not known to harm humans.
If they feel threatened or if they mistake anything for food, they will constrict or bite.
