According to an ABC 6 report, a Philadelphia mosque is under investigation after a victim informed officials she was forced to marry at the age of 14. Child marriages are being held at Philadelphia mosque, reported by ABC 6.
A 17-year-old victim claimed she was forcibly married in the Masjid Uthman Dan Fodiyo mosque to a man named Rajmann Sanders, who sexually abused her and her 10-year-old sister. She also stated that she was a “virgin,” and ended up in divorce.
She said, “At the time I was a virgin. It was going to be my first marriage of course.”
She further said, “The 10-year-old was not handled correctly and everything was swept under the rug. Not only was it wrong, it was wrong to me because at the time I was still his wife.”
After the victim’s statement was broadcast on Facebook. Sanders was arrested and charged with rape, indecent assault, and other sexual offenses, including forceful compulsion. Sanders also allegedly threatened to shoot the victim.
And another victim said that she was also illegally married in the said mosque. It was located 4800 blocks of Paschall.
The victim further said, “This is not healthy for me or my kids. No one should want their kids around this, especially with the pedophilia, that should be enough to say no I don’t want my kids around this.” She don’t want it to happen to other children in the area. These child marriages should be prohibited.
It is confirmed that the suspect for the incident is now under arrest.
