In Beaverton, Oregon, the black cat named Esme has gained quite a bit of local fame as a cat who steals. She has gotten a poor reputation due to her habit of stealing little items. Accessories like gloves and masks were gathered from local gardens and garages. She will take everything that she steals and give it to her mistress, Kate Felmet, as gifts when she returns home. Felmet appreciates and understands the emotion underlying the loving cat’s behavior. Still, she knows that stealing is a terrible thing to do.
Felmet was anxious about the missing items, so she posted an amusing note blaming Esme for the theft. Meanwhile, Felmet extended an open invitation to her neighbors to come and reclaim their stolen property whenever they want.

Esme doesn’t seem to care that she’s been publicly shamed. According to Felmet’s interview with KOIN 6 CBS News, Esme takes great pride in her stolen goods but has no evil intentions.

Felmet said that Esme would yell “Wooooar!” as she stood at the rare door to deliver the items. She stays till Felmet arrives to tell her she has done a fantastic job.

Felmet explained to Patch that the purpose of the poster was more serious than just comical.
The sign, according to Felmet, isn’t meant to be humorous. The reason for this is that she is required to give things back to the people who originally owned them. In addition, she is unaware of the place from which Esme obtains the items.

Not many folks have shown up yet to claim their belongings. However, several things are still missing. Also, more are likely to appear in the future…
