When someone turns 60, it’s a cause for celebration, and frequently it means a party with plenty of cake. The 60th birthday is a milestone birthday, and some people celebrate it with a lavish party. It is a sad fact that some people will be enjoying their 60th birthdays on their alone without anybody else by their side. However, Alain Robert, often known as the “French Spiderman,” celebrated his 60th birthday in a very unusual way. In celebration of his birthday, he climbed a tower that was 48 floors high and did it without the use of a harness.
You may be wondering, “Why?”
Simply said, the French retirement age is 60. He aimed to demonstrate that growing older does not require one to cease being active and engaging in their favorite activities. Additionally, he climbed to call attention to the need of addressing climate change.
Robert has reportedly scaled about 150 of the world’s most formidable man-made buildings, as reported by The Guardian. These iconic structures include the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
A considerable number of his climbs are illegal. As a consequence of this, he has been taken into custody many times for his actions.
It’s not the first time he’s scaled this particular structure, the Tour Total in Paris; he’s done it many times. It would seem that he has no plans to slow down any time soon when it comes to scaling towering buildings and other massive structures.
The fact that a man of 60 can climb these structures is just as impressive as the 59-year-old who did it a year ago. I’m really excited to watch what he does next with his career. Many happy returns, Alain Robert, as you reach the milestone age of 60. Here’s to hoping that you have many more prosperous years ahead!
