The Monaghan Library faced an unusual incident, a book was returned recently which is more than 64 years overdue.
The book was, “The Hedge and the Horse,” it was taken out from library on Jan 11,1957, and returned on Last May, as said by the library.
According to Executive Librarian Kay Cassidy, the library no longer charges late fees, but the book would have cost roughly $2,000 in fines if it had been issued in 1957.
The book’s whereabouts throughout the 64 years it had been checked out from the library remained unknown.
